Maintaining a positive attitude is infectious and sometimes leaders need to set an example through the ups and downs that we are facing now. So we thought we take inspiration from the experiences of Colin Powell on the topic of leadership.
For the people that don’t know who Colin Powell is, he was the most powerful black leader in the USA and World during his career in the 1990’s. He was a four star general, Commander of the Joints Chief of Staff and the Secretary of State. His rags to riches story is an inspiration to all of us. Colin was also a successful author and his first Book “ My American Journey” chronicles his life and was published in 2003. During this time he was on the the speaker circuit as the “Colin Powell’s 13 Rules on leadership” became the rage.
One tip we can glean from these 13 rules is that “Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier” and is good advice with all the negative news that surrounds us today.
